Definitely needs black handles. I’m gonna make some side skirts that look like the ccc Racing or pci sideskirts they make for Honda’s. Just really basic but I think it will look much better then seing the frame just hanging out.

not finished yet but I’m happy with the look so far. They are fairly sturdy and still lightweight. I’m gonna add brackets to the bottom of the rockers for added support as well.

I keep going back and fourth on whether I wanna go nv4500 or 4l80e. It really comes down to parts availability and affordability. I can’t seem to find any 4l80e’s local, well at least not any that people actually wanna sell. I did find what looks to be a complete nv4500 2wd 5 speed swap on eBay but I believe its a older nv4500 from a gen 2 like mid 90’s. From what i see the main difference is the top center bolt hole not being present but is there anything else I’d need to worry about in terms of vehicle speed sensor locations or such?

edit: found this article which spells it out fairly well for anyone else https://www.hotrod.com/articles/ccrp...on-swap-gen-3/

So I know pre 1996 NV4500s had a non synchronized reverse gear. There are also some slight gear ratio changes in the earlier year models that you can read about in the links below. Advanced adapters has a ton of great info.

I like the skirts a lot. It's nice to see someone doing something new and fresh to the old platform.

What did you do about the roof holes after taking the rack off? I haven't even looked at mine yet but curious to know before I get started.

Thanks man, I’ve always liked to make my own parts and have stuff that you don’t see very often. I know the caddy isn’t new or up to date but I’d rather it be that way. When I was in high school If you had an Escalade you were the **** lol. 15 years later and people think your a paisa or a wanna be drug dealer lol. The side skirts came out looking pretty nice, kinda wish they dropped down another 2” but they look better then nothing. I’ll take some close ups of the bolt holes from my roof rack tomorrow. I keep going back and fourth on the Tranny thing. Its been really hard to source what I want but I just found a guy parting out a 02 2500hd 2wd truck. He said he would sell me the full motor and trans for $1600, supposedly has 157k on it and the truck was all stock. Seems like a good deal to me and I’ll have a back up motor to build on the side or build then stuff in something like a second gen s10 down the road. Honestly I’m probably gonna buy what ever trans that I can that will hold the power regardless of 5speed or auto. Even if it sits in my shop and just gets cleaned up and ready for when the 4l65e blows at least it will give me the piece of mind.

Are you going finish debadging it? Also, are you going to take those window visors off and why are your mirror caps black and not factory painted? Truck looks good though. I think it’ll look good with the running boards gone and made a sporty Escalade.

Its almost done being debadged, it was previously wrecked at one point and who ever fixed it painted right over the adhesive tape that normally holds the emblems on so its a little messed up. I love the visors, unfortunately the last 3 times I’ve ordered them for the truck they either send me ext visors for the rear doors or stick on not in sill visors like the fronts are. And the mirror caps are black because I painted them black. Just trying to make it not look so escalade’y.
