Default Tips did it

mine does the same thing... Im cutting the tips off and doin a single 3 inch hooker max flow dumped over axle. That will get rid of that awful popcorn sound.

Yes, over the axle is the way to go!

The crackle and popping is raw fuel vapor that the cats would have normally burned off. Mine does thiss too, plus its tuned rich so that doesn't help either.
A tuned exhaust sometimes helps. Bu tuned I mean trying different length of muffler/tailpipe combos.
I used to deal with this crap allot on crotch rockets in the past. Some exhausts would crackle and pop when letting off after heavy throttle and some would not. It depends on the length of the exhaust pulse and how well your exhaust system flows.
I will never be able to get rid of mine unless I move the turbo up or back.

i hate the poping and stuff, but i love my exhaust including tips, so i guess ill just have to deal with it, i mean it sounds really really racey, i might try to get the same style tips just a lil shorter, that might help

try putting a short bullet right in front of the magnaflow, I have heard this helps cut out a lot of the rasp.
