I finished my LS1 fan conversion yesterday and with all the newfound room under the hood, I was wondering if there's enough space to install one of the later model ram air style dual inlet air intake setups.
Anyone tried this?
This is style I am referring to:

Sorry...I guess I should have been more clear. I guess "later model style" was not the correct way to word it. I agree it's ugly as heck.
Besides, I'm a guy who's still pissed that he spent $100 on an Airaid Jr. tube that did absolutely nothing, so I'm definitely not buying, or even thinking of buying, that overpriced unit...
Just posted it as an example for anyone who might have been unfamiliar with a dual inlet setup, or what I was trying to check into.
I'm thinking of using something like pictured here:

Probably have to use either a 45° or 90° rubber connector at throttle body, so the two actual inlets have some room to get a decent transition from inlet opening at grill or bumper opening, to Y.

I thought about this alot because of the setup on my last truck which was a 2into1 CAI, but it was a little over the top now that i look back at it...

did notice a difference with it tho
I researched this a bunch when i first joined here and rem reading one guy did it but dont rem his results much. The main reason i gave up on it is the maf would have to be right in front of the TB which from reading isnt ideal for air readings ,unless your doing a SD tune. also being there is more of a chance for heat soak then off to the side a little bit. Imo the ideal intake is at least 4" tube, and something with little to no bends. plastic also helps when talking heat soak but not required..
and achieving a "true" ram air effect is probably harder than you would think, but more air is better obviously whenever you can get it..

Seriously though, I do agree, and it would surely be easier with single....just need to figure out best, safest spot to put inlet, I guess.

I have the volant ram air one (didn't notice any difference in SOTP or MPG) and it has the inlet behind the pass. side tow hook. I only have the dr. side hook in so as to not block the airflow and for MAXIMIMUM HORSEPOWER!!!
