1: For those of you w/ 4.8's, How was it pulling a trailer?
2: For those of you with fiberglass toneau covers, what kind do you have and what are your gripes about them?

Hmmm, I haven't heard of that one, is it a clamp on? (removable) No leaks or anything? Approximate Cost?

Also got Snugtop. Its very clean and fits good. Its removable but kinda a pain in the ***, I've had mine for about a year and only took it off once to go to track. It was 1100 for the top, and carpet on the underside and installed at local truck shop.

It does not require any holes to be drilled in the bed which is a plus. It uses a frame that fits snugly against the top of the truck bed. It is very easy to take off, at least with two people. Just take off two bolts and two clips and lift off. There are no leaks what so ever and the finish is perfect. I think the price is around ~$600 for the basic one, and more if you want the carpeted underside which i have. Go to my web page @ www.hometown.aol.com/ktc00027/home.html to see some pics of it. Really made a difference in the apperance of my truck, especially on a step-side bed. Any other questions, just ask.

1. I towed a 6200# 30' travel trailer with mine. But that is really all it wanted. But It did a fine job and I did it for over a year and about 15 or so trips mostly in the Texas hill country. Really the biggest problem was wind. That trailer was shaped like a brick.
2. Another vot for a Suglid by Snugtop. Mine is a clamp on and fits great. One thing I recommend is to pull the mounting frame back out and using a can of "truck bed liner" give it a quick coat. IMO it looks better and will hold up to scratches much better. The only problem I have had with mine is that the weather strip has come loos in a couple of places. But that is an easy fix. Fit and finish, I still have not seen one I like better. Go talk to Stebo at Johnson GT over off I-45 near Almeada Mall. Take the Monroe exit going south and they are on the right before you get to Almeada Genoa. Mine was $900 installed with the painted buttons where the tailgate cap was.

4th vouch for snug top......
Very happy with it. No problems with leaks, etc. My only concern, was hail damage, since I dont have a garage. Ofcourse a good truck cover will fix that. But no problems since, no leaks, nothing.
If you happen to be on the north side, check out the Johnson GT on Kuykendahl and talk to AL the store manager.....had my cover on within 45 minutes (drilled). Got it for $850 if I remember right.
And as far as the buttons, I went to Home Depot and found myself some nice silver "screw whole" caps for like 3 bucks that fit like gloves.

I can't comment on your first question but I can answer #2. Definitely stay away from Checkmate. Thier fit and finish is less than desireable. The lid itself was out of square and had to be shimmed in one corner so that the rear of the cover would line up correctly with the rear of the truck. If you don't buy extra weather striping to put on the inside of the frame it will rub against your box wall and scratch it. Now after having it for about 2-3 years the black fiberglass is faded terribly even after the fact that I kept it waxed. One more thing that I thought was hilarious was that I ordered stake pocket fillers from them to clean up the top rail a little. They sent me four pieces of plastic that was a little smaller than the stake opening with no lip to let it rest on the bed. The kicker is that it had double sided tape on the bottom. What I was going to affix it to I have no idea.

I have a ******* low profile over the rail.No leaks, fits perfect, and with 2 people you can have it off in 1 min.Just pop the cylinders loose from the cover and lift up and out.I Love It.
