Default 6.0 questions...

OK, I might have an opportunity to score a good deal on a 6.0 from an Escalade... These are my questions...

1. Are the 6.0's out of an Escalade LQ4's or LQ9's??

2. Which are better for FI??

3. What are the normal rates for an engine swap??

4. If I can get this thing boosted, how far should my 4L60E hold up??? (After Servos are installed)

Can't help you on 1 and 3, but as for 2, the escalade has the high output (meaning high compression) motor. That means it isn't the best for boost. As for 4, your 4l60 won't hold up worth a **** with a boosted 6.0.

1. Are the 6.0's out of an Escalade LQ4's or LQ9's??

A: LQ9 the only vehicles that come with an lq9 are the Cady escalades, Silverado SS, the VHO's(a 2wd SS), and the new GMC Crew Cab denali's. The older ext cabs w/ the quadrasteer only had the lq4

2. Which are better for FI??
A: the lq4 because of the 9.4:1 cr the lq9's have 10.0:1cr my bad :-(

3. What are the normal rates for an engine swap??
not a clue.... probably lots of beer and pizza

4. If I can get this thing boosted, how far should my 4L60E hold up???

A: about 1 mile I'll let the experts chime in on this one

I think you'll find the LQ9 is closer to 10.1:1 although GM says its 10.0:1. The LS6 is 10.5:1.

install rates for an engine can range anywhere from $600-1500. Around here they go for $1,000 becasue the guys don't like doing them since all they really do is work on ls1 in cars. Don't like having to pull the engine out through the top. and the LQ9 is 10.1 to 1 compression and no the stock 4l60e wont last long.
