How would this cam behave in comparison to a tr220?

Its hard to say. It comes down to your choice of gears and converter. Plus how many rpms you are going to spin it to.

This cam wont require a ton of converter...it'll work well with 3:42s all the way to 4:56s if you want to go that extreme. Also the cam comes in strong about 2200-2500 rpms so you can use a 2500-3200 converter and itll work well.

Skoalbandit ran it in a CC with a 278mm circle d 3000 converter with 3:73s and 20" rims. I think he shifted it out at 6300 and it pulled the entire rpm.

One more question you may or may not be able to answer: every couple years I need to pull my headers and PCM for smog testing (Kalifornia ). Do you think I'd still be able to pass a sniffer test with everything else returned to stock?

With the LSA that is ground into that cam and the low duration. You would have a good chance of passing. I would lean it out in the 2000 to 3500 rpm range to make sure.
