Default Z06 cam install on a 5.3 ?

If I install a 2004 Z06 cam and Z06 springs on a my 5.3 should I run the Z06 push rods or use my stock ones?
Are 04 Z06 cams the same specs as the 02 Z06 cams?

Aren't the Z06 cams ground on a smaller base circle? I'd run the Z06 rods at minimum

If indeed the base-circle of the Z06 cam is smaller, then I would think so unless GM did something else to compensate for the smaller base-circle.

I could be wrong, but I think the valve stem is longer on the LS6 to compensate for the smaller base circle.

the Z-06's base circle is smaller, I believe the correct pushrod length is 7.425"

This correct, the base circle is .050 smaller, but there is enough travel in our stock lifters to make up the difference. The Z06 push rods and our rods are the same, and you can reuse you stock rods and it WILL work fine. I have personally done it as well as others on this board. It you feel more conferable, you can get 7.425 rods to keep the lifters at there factory preload level, but they are not required.

No both 7.4

02 to 04 z06 has a.050 smaller base dia. You can run your stock length (7.4 )or buy some (7.425). The lifter only see .025 of the .05. Lots of people here have ran there stock rod with out problems. If you are going to buy harden rods go ahead and get 7.425

As PathfinderJr said the valve stem is longer on the LS6 to compensate for the smaller base circle
