Based on those prices, I need to open a shop. Jesus.

I hope you didn't pay all those prices lol.

As for the tune, everything is in the PCM, but it might have been a handheld (limited) programmer. An EFI Live or HPTuners tune is the only way to go from here. And a cam. And don't give that shop a cent, they already banked enough off this job lol.

Crud lost my reply after all that typing. Shop is in los angles. I shipped truck to me in northern Minnesota. Original owner had the work done. Spent $10k on top end. Could have bought a 8.1 suburban or even a 7.4/454. For that. 8.1 would run up those hill while accelerating with a big *** boat. I’ve got one. Love it. Actually really like the 6.0 for plowing. Doesn’t spin the rear end like the 8.1 so easy. Better control.

Do do I need to run 91 in that rig. Wouldn’t it be dictated by the “dynotune”? Which I’ll never know what that set.

It's modified and tuned. You need to run 91 or convert it back to stock

I’ve got 2 cayenne twin turbos that have to run 91. So not a big deal. They are set at 450 hp out of a v-6. Could increase boost easily to bring up to 510. But they weigh almost as much as a suburban at 5500 pounds.

Called Brian tooley racing and talked with a kid who answered technical. He recommended going with the stock ls3 cam. I was kind of thinking stage 1 or stage 2. That requires springs and converter and possibly injectors though. I have no idea what injectors are in it or converter. What about some of these truck cams that supposedly kick up 66 hp without additional anything just a cam swap and a tune? Is that true or baloney.
