Default Using a bigger throttlebody?

Just wondering if anybody has or had used a bigger throttlebody on their 99 to present 5300 silverado. i had a 96 c1500 rcsb 5.7L had bought a bbk throttlebody and it improved throttle and mpg so much!! Since my truck is drive by wire i didnt know if there is a improvement or not? Well get to the point i thought fo get it cause i can get it like for less than $100!! so what you guys think?

cant go wrong trying it for less than 100. V8 has a bbk on his cable throttle body and gained around 10 hp. i havent heard of any drive by wire gains...

As long as you get it tuned for it, if not you will run slower, because the a/f ratio will be off.

wont the computer compensate and re-adjust the A/F ratio?

Yes until you go to open loop/WOT.

During closed loop operation, the computer will constantly adjust to keep A/F 'right.'

correct. I lost 4/10's of a second with the bigger t/b. test at the track same night. same 60'
