Don't feel like typing it out, so here's a summary.
im here to give the full scoop. looks like the bottom end has been tore up for a little while. it has been running with excessive endplay. endplay was bad enough that the flywheel teeth have ground about a 1/4 inch out of the starter housing. the bottom end of the motor is done, and based on the endplay id be willing to bet that the block is probably no good. it also caused the converter to move too much and has burnt the tranny up.
bottom line is he needs another motor, another tranny, starter, flywheel, probably flywheel housing, and all the misc parts needed to do it right. i think the plan knowing all that is to put a junkyard motor in it and sell the bitch. he might be coming to the darkside. Hooray for mustangs.

Looking at Mustangs, third gen camaros, and c4 Corvettes... Planning on buying a 5 Speed Ford Ranger here soon to get to and from work. We'll see what happens from there.
