Internet, Serious business

But on a more mature note, I apologize if my antics concerning impossible goals have somehow offended you. I will try to refrain from having any input at all without regard to how light hearted or unharming the post may be.

Definitely sounds like a connecting rod knock to me.....especially since you can really hear it above 3K RPM's. How many miles on the engine and how high did you spin the engine before it started making the knocking noise? Have you ever had oil pressure problems? Where is the oil level at now?

90k miles on the motor. When this happened it was spinning somewhere north of 3k RPM. Never had any oil problems and I just changed it last week. Change engine oil light still comes up for about 20 seconds after I start the truck.

Truck starts now, sounds fine for about 3 - 5 seconds then starts sputtering, then cuts off.
