Took my truck to meet my tuner yesterday. We realized that the TPS sensor is indeed faulty. At idle it was reading 2%, at WOT it was only showing anywhere between 9 - 14 %.
The computer was also showing that the #2 and #7 cylinders were mis-firing. We then pulled the wires that I had just replaced and pulled the #2 spark plug. Other than a bunch of carbon buildup it looked fine. I will be replacing the spark plugs in the near future though. After a bit of thinking, we tested the coil packs. #2 was missing every other revolution and #7 was completely dead. I found my misfiring problem...
So, we replaced the coil packs. Good as new. No mis-fires. Everything's fine now other than the faulty TPS sensor which I replaced today.
I also learned that the mechanic that worked on my truck is a complete f*cktard. My transmission is nowhere near blowing up.
Replaced the TPS sensor today, which took about 10 minutes. Reset the PCM and took it out for a drive. No codes were thrown and it actually downshifts now! Everything is back together and it's finally fixed!

Good to hear that you got everything figured out
I was throwing a stuck solenoid code in my t/a in may...
At first I thought it was just the usual random missfire code that I occasional get from my cam, but then I tried leaving an intersection in drive and the car reved to like 3000 but barely moved. I tired 1st, but same thing.
I was worried the trany was pooched so I hit the Ls1 forums and someone from PerformaBuilt Transmissions replied and said to clear codes first and they it could be caused from the aftermarket converter.
Sure enough it was a stoopid little code... saved me 2500 bucks on a stock rebuild.

Well I had some of the exact same problems after the first shop that worked on my truck fucked everything up. They wired 3 of the coil packs wrong (honestly how do you do that?? Seriously!) And unlike you my transmission was actually busted. They dropped mine off the cherry picker and failed to tell me what they did, and installed it anyways!
In any case, glad you got a few of the bugs worked out, how's the butt dyno?

Have you tried taking the vehical back with a list of fuckups they made and say "Uh... I'd like some of my money back and a talk with the after school kid who did the 'work' on my truck..." or just hand them a copy of your latest bill showing the work needed after they were supposed to correct everything.
But dyno feels pretty good, but tune issues are keeping the DD enjoyment at 80% of what it should be... I would really like to get the car dyno'd once the tune is bang on. Conservatively guesstimating on 385whp and 400# of torque. Just a guess as I've never owned a vehical with this much oomph before
