Default Truck sh*t itself... Big mess...

Pulled off the highway (after driving ~80 miles in 95* heat trying to get my truck to pass emissions.. which it still hasn't) and nailed it a bit... Bad idea. :banghead:

Sounds like someone took a jackhammer to the block anywhere over 3k RPM. Came home ASAP, luckily I was only 5 minutes away, and popped the hood in the driveway and I see smoke. Didn't even bother looking at anything else, I just came inside and been scouring the forums that I'm on for the last 2 hours to see if there's any similar threads. Think I lost a piston, still not sure. I'll be back with more info. Going to take a look at it now.

Considering the situation with you cruising i'd say it was detonation. And the only reason it is still together is it only busted out the ring land which is common. A busted ring land will sound like a jackhammer. But so does a spun rod brg. A compression check would rule one or the other out but why bother, it has to come out anyway.

So here's what I'm being told so far on 4 separate forums:

- Spun rod bearing
- Piston
- Blown head gasket
- Rocker arm
- Pushrod
- Valve spring
- Busted ring land

ROCKER ARM WOULD BE PRETTY DAMN NOISY ALL THE TIME.... WHAT DID THEY MEAN BY PUSH ROD??? LIKE BENT??

BLOWN HEAD GASKET... POSSIBLE... DID IT OVERHEAT??

I WOULD LEAN TOWARD ROD BEARING OR RING LAND...
