Its not really how much power im going to make. I just want a head with a thick deck so i dont blow headgaskets as easy and the edelbrock have a thick deck and flow very well. Cablebandit do you think I need an aftermarket head or do you think I will be all right with a GM head, ARP studs and a good head gasket? If the you think the stock GM heads will hold say 15-18 PSI than i will just buy a set of Patriots.

oh Lord, you are asking dumbass SR. what he thinks!! lol
My 2 cents...i dunno your shortblock but take mine and Daves...5.7...diamond 9:1 compression pistons
Get some #317 heads..STOCK...a 215-220ish cam on a 112-113lsa 93/meth...2 step and a 2600+ stall. Use GM mls gaskets...arp studs. Heads are going to lift with detonation...not power. I lifted heads several times with 200hp less when i used to be too lean or too much timing. I dunno your goals but 700rwhp with a GOOD intercooler should not be a prob if you have the turbo to support it. Once again...i dunno your goals. The cam lsa I said is to help with midrange cylinder pressure since you will be on 93/methanol and you wanna keep that detonation away. I will switch to those same specs next time i have mine apart. Also, exhaust.....that is free power...the freer the exhaust systrm the better for power!!! If you want to spring for ported heads go ahead but i would spend the money on tires!!!!
