Default TBSS Intake on 5.3 with 706 Heads...Gains??

Ive read through everything on here and everywhere else on the internet.

Have not seen any proven gains on a 5.3l with Cam and full Bolt ons with the stock small valved 706 heads.

Think it is worth while installing my TBSS Intake, 92mm PTM Throttle body to my 5.3l Cammed Full Bolt ons or just run a Ported and Polished 78mm throttle body on my Stock intake and save this setup for my LQ9 setup this fall?

That's who I bought the intake from, but i wonder if the small cam/low lift he is running had anything to do with it?

i also ran this by a well known camshaft designer and he explained why i lost performance.
Its just to much intake for a 5.3.
Its to big which caused the incoming air to slow down
Very possible it may have gained above 6k rpm but with my setup i wanted torque down low which i lost with the tbss intake
Its a good intake just not for small engines.

Interesting... I wish there was some dyno's done....... but Greymatter has some good points.... with the small valves ect. it is just not the perfect setup for the 5.3l...

A big cammed 4k stalled 5.3 with ported heads yea go for it...ithats all topend i am sure it would benifit some
BUT a reasonable cammed 5.3 with bolt-ons and 6300 shift points that intake will hurt
