Stepped headers or non stepped

What really hammered this home for me was that it wasnt too long ago that I thought of a 500 HP 383 crate motor to be pretty insane... After I put these heads on my truck I'll have more than 500 at the crank easily, and honestly my build is mild. I'd get much more out of a better intake and bigger cam. I think 550 crank HP out of a 6.0 is legit, and by no means everything its got, but for a Gen I small block with more cubes its gettin there.
Hopefully you work something out with these bigger headers! I think the combination of them with the intake will be awesome! It'll be great to hear what you think!

there were pictures of a set of TSP headers sitting next to a set of kooks headers and the bends looked IDENTICAL. yes kooks are stainless but if you live in a area with low rust hazard you cannot beat the price of the TSP 1 7/8 headers. i doubt the possible gains of the stepped header will outweigh the cost difference. stepped kooks are NOT cheap and do not fit perfectly every time. FWIW my LS2 s10 will have 1 7/8 longtubes.
as for those who think that 1 7/8 will lose torque down low dont believe it. my setup alot going from 1 3/4 pacesetters with ory and 3" dumped to the stepped kooks 1 7/8 to 2" with true dual 3" exhaust. I also added a ported fast intake at the same time which everyone claimed was a down low torque killer. here is my proof to not believe all of the internet theories and hype. here is they dyno sheets of my before/after on my my exhaust and intake change. the intake change was going from a stock LS6 manifold (pos) to a ported fast 90mm setup. i think it was a decent gain. damn i miss this old motor RIP lol.

Yeah I've come to the conclusion that I'll end up with the TSP 1-7/8 just cause of the price the New TSP headers are stainless BTW even more of a bargin I can't see spending the money on kooks

in hind sight, after spending around 1,500 on the intake swap, 1,100 on kooks, and 1,500 or so on the pacesetter heads, and no telling how much on the nitrous kit i never got to use...
i should have taken that money and gotten a turbo kit!
