Default Reman starter turns over once battery is hooked up, no relays in or keys in..

Just had to put a new starter on the tahoe (just a hint, it made my life so much easier to pull the dipstick tube...i fought it for an hour then yanked it and it came right out and back in...

anyway, get the starter in and hooked up, just 2 wires, cant **** it up..hook the battery back up and as soon as i touch the negative on the battery, the ****** turns over...no keys in ignition or relay in the fuse box..

is it just a shitty starter? something must be fucked up in the solenoid giving it constant power to the ignition side..right?

Sounds like a crappy reman...check the wiring from the solenoid to the starter and make sure that it isn't twisted and hitting the B+ wire or post (which would still be part of the shitty reman and not your fault)

i noticed the wire from the solenoid to the starter is showing half of the wire, not covered..so maybe that is a sign that its a piece of ****..ill try a new one tomorrow..now that i can get it in and out in a few minutes without the damn dip stick..

look at where you bolt the wires on to the solenoid and the starter...they could be touching... this happened to me and every time the positive terminal was connected the starter would turn on
