Default Quiet 3.5 inch muffler

I currently have a 6.2 exhaust cut before the ressie with a dumped tip, lt's and no cats. I like the tone, but I cant get over the "hair dryer" sound of the exhaust rushing through the factory muffler. What are some good mufflers to weld in place, lose the rushing air\tinny sound, but still stay quiet? Maybe something like a MF 12909? i can't find anything longer than 22" in 3.5". This is on my 5.3 with 9psi. It's a lifted truck, so I kinda want the exhaust stealthy until I get on it to surprise people.

I'd say that muffler is a good place to start. not sure it will be quieter than the stock myuffler though. It will flow a hell of a lot better. I would consider addign the stock resonator back in along with the muffler swap. Those resonators are a straight through design, right?

I didnt think about putting the resonator back. Would it really help all that much?

ive heard plenty of stories of guys who removed them from a stock exhaust on a 6.2 and they had drone... so i would imagine its noticeable.

Is there any way to get rid of the tinny rushing air sound with the stock muffler? Or would I be better off to switch to a straight through anyways?

You will definitely be better off going straight through... and I would have it retuned since youre pushing 9 PSI. I would expect quite a difference in your VE tables.

I think in the mean time changing the tail pipe a little and adding that resonator may help.

My truck is completely stock so this may not help you. I am very happy with the Magnaflow #12909 I just put on. Cant tell it's there at a warm idle, I start to hear it around 1500rpm, but is has a deep sound. There is no drone on the highway, but it's a little noticeable when lugging up a hill. 6.2 Silverado.
