Please help me beat a stock 2v mustang

Well first of all i want to thank all the members of this site. i don't really post much but I've been lurking since 2009. You guys have been really helpful, there is no way i could have built my truck without all the great info on here.
okay so now that that is out of the way. i have a 2000 RCSB silverado with a lq4, ms3 cam, 3700 rmp stall, longtube headers, yukon unit, 4.56 gears, and tunned via nelsons performance. My nightmare started when i went to the local dyno and the truck put down a measly 240hp. So i knew something had to be wrong, i blamed that on my stock 4l60e slipping. so i replaced it with another used unit i had at the shop just to discard it. Now that brings us to this weekend, when i was cruising around the beach and came across one of my buddies that drives a stock 2002 bullit so we run from about a 40 roll and i put about a car on him at first and then at around 70/80 he pulled me and left me by 3 cars.
Now my question is, is that about right fro my set up? I mean when i built it i obviously didn't expect my truck to be lighting fast, but i assumed it would at least eat a mustang for lunch and maybe hang with a cam only fbody.
thanks in advance for the help.
ps. Idk if this the right section for this question please move it if it not.

You should definitely be beating a stock mustang. I raced one when I had gears and a tune and got beat by maybe 3. He was full bolt ons with gears. Thats in a 5.3/4l60 2003 rcsb. A quick google showed, they should do around a 14.0 at 98-100mph. Maybe these are not correct numbers, but I've never seen one that was very impressive. A cam only fbody is another story. I wouldn't expect you to get run down on top end. Id say you have something wrong with your setup.

At that speed the car will prob win with less HP. Your pushing a brick through the air, vs a lighter more aerodynamic car. With you mods, I would think you should turn very low 13's, high 12's in that truck with out to much of a issue.

Is the 240 with all of the mods or stock? I hope stock because most stock lq4s Dyno in the 260-270 hp range. Something is wrong with your setup or he isnt stock at all. I could pull 4-5 lengths on my buddies 2000 gt from a 30 roll when I was all motor and I have about 1000 lbs on you

Okay I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks my truck should be a little faster. And I know the cam only fbody thing is pushing it but i hang around a bunch of fbody guys and it would be nice to show them up with a truck..! Lol

Well I'm aware of the disadvantage I have due to aerodynamics. I guess I should have gotten him to race me from a dig..

No unfortunately that is after said mods.. The car is definitely stock I've been knowing the guy for a while and he wouldn't know what to even do to it of he had the money to do it. When you out ran your buddy's car what were your mods? If you don't mind me asking.!

My mods are in my sig minus the procharger.
Lq4, tbss intake, p&p 317 heads, comp ls-r 227/235 .612/.624 113lsa, efans, at the time a performabuilt level 3 and a circle-d 4c 3700 rpm converter, 4.56 gears, 32.6" tires. Ran a 13.2@100 short shifting and low timing. I took my shift rpm up and it kept getti g faster but no track times
