Default P0342 why ?

On start up im getting a 0342 code "Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Low Input " ??

Any ideas?

I clear it and it goes away, but just today every start up has set this code.

Thanks !

Okay I found this-- " This code is only set when engine speed is less than 4000 RPM, and the most likely symptom is long crank time when starting. "

So Now im re- Asking,

Are you guys with aftermarket fuel pumps getting this code sometimes ?

I cycle my key a couple times, but sometimes sit still cranks a bit then fires.

Im thinking its the walbro 255 i just installed in my tank.

Sounds to me like you have the pump without the check valve to hold the pressure causing you to have to crank. If you go key on and dont start, what does your fuel pressure due?

Yep good old walbro with no check valve. You have to turn the key on and off a few times to prime it, then turn it over. It's annoying as hell.

I had one, left me stranded on the interstate. I may try one more cause I've heard I'm the exception. But its far more likely I'll go stand alone for spray and keep my AC DELCO pump...

well im going to have to see about an inline check valve.

You'd think you buy a good pump and it would have one.

A High volume and a"good" pump are two different things...

Had one in my 04 and never had an issue. Bought it From Magnuson , wander if it had a check valve in it?
