Default My 98 c1500 needs a newer, bigger engine..help?

I have a 98 c1500 w 186,000 on the 4.3L. My truck and I have discussed it and we want a new motor. i deploy in Feb and would love either a shop to do it for me or just to buy everything before i go. Id love a built 5.7, or a 6.0. Can any1 help me out. Im in Ft Eustis Virginia and there are no shops around here. Thanx

Default New motor

Working in Iraq as we speak. Dad built me a sweet 408 for my Hummer. I suggest a 6.0 LQ or LQ9 iron block with aluminum heads (2003 and later I believe). The stock bottom end is good enough for street or strip use. Just put a nice cam and timing set in it (Call Schneider Racing Cams and tell Kevin what you want to do) and a decent intake. A regrind is 175 and a new cam is 400. If you want to spend 8-10 grand, I can tell you much more.....lol. That LQ9 is a solid engine and puts out good power stock.
