Default More power!!!

K i know that all i have is the 5.3 but i want to be able to burn the tires off the line. i drove a stock 5.3 rcsb and i could burn the tires off the line for a little bit. I own a 5.3 ecsb and i cant get them to burn.

My mods are S&B CAI,LPP LT Headers, Aero muffler, vett servo. I have not done a tune yet im trying to save money to do it. but i just cant see the tune making me be able to burn the tires but idk.

Does my set up just not have the power to do it or am i doing something wrong.

what would be the next bang for my buck. i dont want to do FI yet. I want to pay off the truck first.

oh also this is my DD so i realy dont want to stall it. ( then again i dont know much about stalls and how they work. they just sound like it would be a pain to DD with a stall)

Thanks for reading.

Get a conveter and a custom tune, then you will be burning the tires at will .

the thing that makes a tune so much better (in an automatic) is the reduction of Torque Management. that's one of the biggest things holding you back right now.

a higher-than-stock-but-not-ridiculously-crazy stall as well as a lower rear will help you out a bit. 4.10s gears should do well for you (and even slightly help city mileage). no clue on stalls cause i'm a manual guy... sorry

ps - unless your glove box says G80, you're gonna be peg-legged

stock 3.23 or 3.42 in there, no? My truck wouldn't budge the rear tires either until I put the maggie on it, lol. Now it has the maggie (well, had until the new one gets here) and 4.10s out back so spinning the tires is not hard at all.

With a 2600 stall, some tuning by myself, and 4.56 gears, I can burn my 120 pound 325x65x18 (35x13) nittos with my 5.3

Thanks for the input guys. What is the stock stall? i dont want to stall it way high. i have 3.73s gears and it is a 4x4 dont know if that makes it harder to burn the tires or what not. between 3k and 6k my truck friekn screams. much much faster than my last truck a 1996 dodge ram with the 5.9l magnum.
one question i know i have a lot smaller motor and im only rated at 295hp but would i come close or beat a 5.7 hemi and a 5.4 tritan?

stock stall is around 1600rpm

a stock hemi is faster but gets horrible mileage, and the 5.4 is a dog.
