Default Modding a 4.8L

I usually post on LS1Tech but, I'm a newb here and I drive a LT1 Car. LOL.
I read all the stickies but, I dunno if I seen anything that matched up to what I wanted to do. So, I'm asking for a little more insight.

The truck is a 04' 4.8L 2WD Silverado Regular Cab short wheel base.
It's my DD and I drive about 20miles to work everyday. I want an off the shelf cam to match my setup. Which cam would be best? These are the mods I'm adding very soon.

LT's
Exhaust
Electric Fans
CAI
Trail Blazer Stall

Which cam would match my setup best. I want a choppy idle but, nothing crazy and probably don't want to spin the motor much higher than 6,000. Also, which exhaust would give me the most power? I would also like some help finding a thread I either seen on here or LS1Tech around Janurary. It was a cam swap done on a Black 07' Silverado. It had a detailed description, pictures, dyno graphs, parts used.

-Thanks

Does anyone have any experience with this cam and what kind of power is usually seen?

I ran it N/A for a while. It made more power than the stock cam in every part of the rpm range. Also ran up 6400 rpm before it stopped pulling.Mine was what we call the crane low lift.

I found the article I was looking for.

http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/front...in-budget.html

This cam is pretty much the same as I was looking at. I'm looking for a 13sec. daily driver so I'll probably go this route. When you install pacesetter LT's and Y-pipe does the y-pipe exit in the stock location or will some exhaust work be necessary? I've decided to just run a E-Cut out to keep droning down on the highway.

That cam is gonna be pretty choppy in a 4.8.The trailblazer stall is also way to small for it.also with the crane low lift you can use z06 springs $50 and stock pushrods.

hopefully blackgmc will chime in but, he has his 4.8 running 8.3s in the 1/8th dont know what that equates to for the 1/4 but it runs real strong. give him a shout. he has tried numerous cams in his truck and could tell you what you need to do to reach your goal.
