Default Manually shifting a automatic

How can some of you guys manually shift your truck above 5600 rpm without a program change? I have read several cases of this. If I leave my truck in 1st. gear it will shift to 2nd. at 5600 anyway.

You can do it higher than 5600 manually (well on mine).... but I wouldn't really reccomend it. Just save a little and get the programmer or LS1 edit for the shift points.
I manually shifted mine a few times, and locked the valves up in my 1-2 shift in the tranny from doin it one night. I drove it up to the Chevy place (Bearly made it w/ the tranny) and they fixed it w/o askin ne ?'s bout it. Guess they figured it was a factory defect cuz I only had 8k miles on it.
Just be careful if ya do it... and I would suggest gettin a programmer or something

Yeah this is a weird topic. On my 2000 on factory settings, it would shift 1-2 WOT at 5600 in drive but if I put the handle in 1st it would WOT hit the 6000 rev limiter. But I have heard some people have a 5600 rev limiter so WTF is going on?

You have to manually shift. The only time it will shift if the lever is in 1st in on part throttle acceleration.
