ls6 intake results

This is a great thread!
Kano, your on the right idea about the more mods the better the car intake will work. I also agree with Sport Side that there are even benefits for the 4.8l and 5.3l engines with bolt ons. This is a foundational mod that will effect most other bolt on and engine related power output. Due to the higher demand for airflow, it stands to reason that the 6.0l engines will see larger gains net gains.
Now will Kano's truck break the 400rwhp mark? With a 1/2 second gain in ET I think he's close. It'll be nice to see a few more trucks make the swap to get a look at the overall trend.
Thank you for everyone's input on this subject.

I guess I'm going to have to get busy on collecting more parts. I'm going a little different route than most...I'm converting to car accessories. I'm just lacking an alternator, an A/C compressor (which I have a line on) and the idler. And of course the intake and related stuff.
I will say that a couple of tenths gain are most likely attributable to the better short time. I've always gone by the old addage: "one tenth gained in the 60' is worth two tenths on the big end." Did the intake help the low end torque to help get a better launch? That would go against everything that I've ever thought to be true--longer runners = more low end torque.

Hey Scream.
Runner Length is apparently near the same.
Plenum Volume is where the big difference is.
I'm sure you've looked inside the truck intake and how the entrance is one long tube.

With the truck intake it was like it took time for it to build up it was very strange leaving the line it sounded like it was almost bogging and then around 200 ft out it would just take off like a shot of nitrous Like it took time for the truck intake to start flowing.
I really think he has a huge gain all over the chart with this new intake.
great job man

Very impressive!!
I am looking forward to the dyno graphs. Even on a somewhat stock LQ9, you should pick up some nice HP on the top end.
Can you use the truck fuel line going to a car fuel rail? Will they connect together?
