This might be a silly question, but I was going to drop a 502 BB in a full size chevy truck, but I want to get the lightest body style, does anyone know?

The new body styles are @ 3700lbs in a reg cab swb base model. 98 and older are 200lbs heaver. Look at NADA, they show truck weights.

At the track they have a scale. 99 reg cab step side, base model, 1/2 tank of fuel with me(200) weighs 4230. I have prolly the lightest gm fullsize new body stlye because I have the- Step side, No AC, No power accessories, than of ofcoase I stripped the bumper, spair etc. I wish Mine wieghed 3700 but the lighest I had it was 3980 without me in it, no tailgate etc.

At the local gravel pit(unsure of accuracy) The scale read 5160 on a 2003 Loaded ext cab fleet side z71 with an access tonneau cover(50), 3/4 tank of fuel. I'm going to guess but a reg cab prolly weighs 3-400 lbs less.
Just my 2.

My 2002 RCSB Z71 weighed in at 4580 w/o me and about 1/2 tank of gas.

The truck has everything on it but a locker, leather and a sliding rear window. That weight also includes a rubber bed mat, and a GM soft bed cover

ROFL dude. Old post but I signed up for the forum just to reply to this. Maybe I am buzzing on starbucks this morning but if you think you are going to outrun a sportbike with a half decent rider on it you better be looking north of 1000hp and figuring out how to make it hook. I respect your effort and desire to be fast but thats the honest facts.

Granted I happen to own one of the faster production sportbikes but most in the SS class with run low 10's or high 9's. Guys run mid to high 8's on my zx14r all the time with bolt on mods and no motor work. You might want to try outrunning some cars and be happy with that.

Lets assume you could make unlimited power hookup

3500lb truck (Spotting you about 500lbs easy here) with 1000hp would be 3.5 pounds per pony

My zx14r @215 RWHP and 550lbs would be 2.5 lbs per pony. Rather large difference there. Especially when most sport trucks are trapping around 95-100mph and bikes tend to trap around 150+.. This is just simply an apples to rocket ships comparison in every way.

"Well I could take you off the line!" Yea I have heard that one before. Thats why we have the 1.20 sixty foot club on our forum, cause were slow off the line lol.
