Default L92 heads on my 408 LS1?

I am building a 5.7l LS1 408. Is this worth doing? Or is there to much modifiying to make it worth the swap? I'm setting the motor up at 9:1 and will be putting on a D-1SC procharger on it.

Thanks.

I have been told you can but sleeves have to be changed$$$$ Would be better off using a LS2 block if wanting to stay aluminum.

Eagle Racing sells a 408 rotating assembly for the 5.7l LS1 block and they said it doesn't need to be sleeved. Guess I'll know for sure when I tear the block down tonight.

So I bought a new aluminum LS2 instead. Still thinking about L92 heads. Will they be a good head out of the box for a 408 supercharged LS2?

yes. try to get your lift to .600's where they really shine.
a custom spec
a cam would be worth it IMO.

The L92's like the larger displacement.

My engine builder is looking for a lift of .650. We will prolly buy bare heads and instal our own valves and springs.

Those heads will work very well if you choose the right cam. Cam selection is very important with those heads.

What would you suggest for a cam? I want the car to have a good lope to it so it draws attention. You don't see sandrails with a hotrod sound. I am running Mahle 4.00 pistons with a -15cc dish. I am trying to get around 9.5:1 compression.

the L92's helped pilot a friends '98 z-28 with a 370ci and an 88mm turbo to a 9.13@148mph last year. running stock valves and rockers too.

+1 for the l92's
