If it's real you blow your motor up. I'm not going to turn them off because I can't afford a new motor or the time to swap it right now. I will exhaust all other options before I turn them off, eventhough I am 99% sure it's false knock.

Well If you're really getting 7+ degrees of knock as it is, your motor should've been fucked a long time ago.

The oil. I've mentioned it in a couple threads. I had bouts of KR forever. Just normal cruise. Tried everything I knew tune wise. Gave up on it. Put a catch can on it. Not for the knock just because I was seeing oil in the blower, sometime later I noticed no more mysterious knock in my logs. I'm guessing drops of oil making it into the cylinders and causing it.

B5908 can add spark. Link up the scan tool and tune tool and make sure your looking at the right things

Okay guys I just did some experimentation.

My base tune is a slightly tweaked stock 02 LQ4 tune. The timing tables are stock. I took a high octane table from an 02 Z06 and pasted that in. Then I pasted in the low octane LQ4 table into the high octane table.

I tried the Z06 tune first, the truck pulled much harder in 2nd. Guys it took 27.5 degrees of timing with no knock. 1 time it went up to 2.5 degrees of knock. In 3rd of the highway it eventually spiked up to 8 degrees of KR I believe.

I then tried the low octane table tune and it knocked 8 degrees of KR in 2nd gear with only 22.5 degrees of timing.

This really makes no sense whatsoever. Sometimes it gets KR sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't get KR with 27.5 degrees of timing, but does on 22.5. But one both tunes I was eventually able to get 8 degrees of KR.

wtf is going on.

how much oil was it??I mean if there's that much going through the intake then its mixing with the fuel and knocking the octane down some.
Did you clean the intake while it was off?

There was a lot of oil. When I sat the intake down on the ground, there were drops of oil on the ground.

Does anyone know about the RevXtreme catch can? It's $90 which is reasonable. I heard AMW went up to $160
