Set your decay rate to 0 and log it again.

Not sure on EFILive.
I know where it is on HPT. Set it at 0 and it will tell you if it's false knock or real knock. Some people don't advise doing it this way apparently but hey your truck is knockin anyways so...

When you get knock your PCM pulls timing as you already know and the PCM will not let your timing resume until the pre-set "decay" rate has expired. If you set it at 0 your PCM will not pull timing at all and leave your timing alone. When you get false knock it's usually a one time event and then it's gone regardless of what timing does. If the knock is real you will keep seeing it and it won't go away, however with the decay rate set at 0 no timing will be pulled and you could possibly hurt your engine which is why people don't advise doing it.
hope I explained it a little better. I was getting some slight knock too a few weeks ago and a friend walked me through the decay rate settings and I went out and did a few pulls and found out the knock was false.

I'm gonna try the catch can and then go from there. There is significant oil around the intake gasket and inside the intake ports. So maybe that is actually causing knock.

You probably just unhook the 2 hoses and drain it. I'm not too concerned with that. You're probably splitting hairs over which is better. The Rev one has good reviews on tech.
