Default Headers without tune

If I install my long tubes and run them for 6-8 months without getting a tune other than a check engine light from the rear o2 delete would it hurt anything? I drive 100+ miles a day and my truck has to be reliable. I want to make sure I'll be safe until I can get a tune.

People have ran Longtubes and or a Cam on certain vehicles and not gotten a tune for months and it was okay but, if I were you I would try and get a tune soon as you could. After you get a tune you will be happy with the results and worth the effort of getting the headers installed in the first place.

Your gas mileage will suffer a little but you'll be fine on the stock tune.

i installed my catless LTs in Jan & it wasn't til the end of april that i had my tune. the only codes i got were when my front O2s died (165k mi on them). i replaced them with corvette rears & was fine. i just never took it over 1/2 throttle til i was doing datalogs - just to be safe. gas mileage actually still went up untuned - it was +1mpg in town & either +3mpg doing 65 or -1mpg doing 75. after the tune, i got another +1 in town & ain't been on the interstate yet.

You should be fine...of course it won't be optimal, but you shouldn't have any major issues

yeah, mine wasn't too bad (but i've also got a manual transmission ), but the tune definitely cleaned up the low end a bit
