I wonder what it will be placed in. .Man with 6 gears, you could run 1 hell of a gear on the back!!

man the 4L60E is in alot of vehicles, which is a good thing!!

I think everything with a 4 spd now, will get a 6spd auto. They have 4 different rwd transmissions, X13R-X16R, and ten combinations total (2wd,awd,4wd).

The X15R will most likely replace the 4L60E, with a capacity of 430 lbs/ft, and the X16R would replace the 4L80E and handles 520lbs/ft.

I see they are working on a torque convertor less trans, and using one of the clutch packs to launch the vehicle. I hope they don't do this, sure it would improve gas mileage, but performance would suffer.

bmw 745 have been using hydromatic 6 speed automatics since 02 likely very similar.
