Default GM 5.3 Yukon, is this custom grind OK?

I talked to Comp Cams and got their suggestion on a cam for my application. What I sent them.

- 02 Yukon
- 5000+ lbs
- 3200 stalled 4l80e
- needs to tow a little
- needs to support a turbo in the future, not too much overlap

Here are the specs suggested. What do you all think?

I'll get springs, hardened rods... what else?

It looks fine.

-8 degrees of overlap.

How it "feels" is going to depend on how loose or tight the converter is.

It'll be peppy. Does that help? lol.

When I ran my Comp LSR265 grind, (219/227 I think), it was plenty peppy off-idle.

Seems fine. you will need springs! Singles will be fine, and I'd look for a .625" lift. Hardened pushrods are a must! 7.4s would most likely work, but I would recommend getting a pushrod length checker and making sure. Also, get a really good trans cooler! like a tru cool 40,000.

It pull good at wide open but when towing with the converter locked on the highway it's gonna be a dog. For a 5.3 that's gonna tow a 222/222 .596/.596 115+4 is a bit much. Turbos don't need a lot of duration so personally I would move down into the 218 range.

Good point on the duration. I'll see if they can do 218/218 596/.596 115+4 then.
