Default Anyone have the 216/220 cam? Does it lope in a 4.8?

Looking for a cam for my turbo 4.8 and want a little bit of chop. This is an open downpipe off the turbo. Does this cam have a noticable lope at idle? Is this cam a good choice over the stock cam? Thanks.

Specs are 216/220 114 LSA,

That'll have a little bit of chop. Not much, but definitely noticeable.

Which cam are you talking about? Get a cam with a lower LSA if you want a lumpy idle, like 111 or 112. The Texas Speed cams usually have a choice of LSA. Longer duration cams will also have a rougher idle due to more overlap.

My 212/212 114 has a good amount of lope at 700RPM on my 5.3L. I have a cutout at the end of the downpipe and anyone would notice the lope with it open. Less noticeable when the cutout is closed and its running through the big Magnaflow muffler. No vids unfortunately.

I guess it depends on how much lope you want.

Fast86z,

Batboy was pointing out that the cam specs in the title were 216/220 and the specs in the post were 220/224

Every setup is different. Exhaust, Tune, etc. Should lope a little. not anything like a 110-112 lsa cam.

In a 4.8 both the cam in the thread title and the cam in the actual thread will have some lope.

It should have some lope to it. I ran that cam in my 04 5.3, thru the exhaust it wasn't TOO noticable, with the cutouts open, you could definitely here a mild chop.

My 216/224 115 has a lope in my 5.3, so I'd say a 216/220 114 should have a decent lope/chop in a 4.8.
