Default Dynatech Supermaxx Install

Alright, need some help. I am in the process of installing my dynatech supermaxx kit and right now I have the headers in and tightened down. The problem I am having is getting the y-pipe in place. I haven't even touched the drivers side yet, I am just trying to get the passenger cat and the y-pipe to go together. I can get the cat on and get the pieces together, but then I can not connect it to the catback. Obviously it is getting late and it is already dark, but I have intentions to finish this tonight if possible. Any help or tips are appreciated.

They are supposed to fit right up, but my dynatechs required cutting the exhaust pipe back a couple of inches to fit.

I may have to loosen the catback and see if that gives me the room. Its not off by far, just enough to annoy you.

I used my foot as the crowbar to give me the extra clearance to fit them together. Then, once contact was made, a large screwdriver worked them together for the final fit.

Wait til you put the 90* driver side elbow on.

Mine would NEVER come close to fitting......they interfered with the steering shaft, the trans mission AND the trans crossmember, I ended up selling them to a friend with an '02 1500 and they went into his smooth as butter

I also used the foot crowbar method.

I have installed a few of those set ups and never had a problem. I wonder is there are some variances from truck to truck.

I ended up using the foot crowbar method and I have to say it worked well. I just wish I would have came back and read this so I could have done it sooner. The drivers side elbow wasn't too bad, my foot came in handy there too.

Right now I have everything tightened back up except I have two of the header bolts on the passenger side header that will not go in. As soon as I get them started and think I have it, they stop and will not go in anymore. I am sure I could force them in, but I don't want to strip anything and make it worse. Any suggestions?

*edit* I went to use the search, but it is not working. What did you guys use to keep the plug wires from touching on the drivers side. I know I have seen something in the past, just don't remember what.

Temprorary I used aluminum foil to keep them from touching.
For long term fix I used 2 heat "socks" over the plug boots and they ran about half way up the wire. Working well after about 3 months.

I did this: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....73&postcount=4

I also have since wrapped them both in MSD tape.
