a stock converter or small converter is the limitation to 60'
you can take a stock Fbody and be a ***** and launch at 1500rpms and get a 2.xx 60' or you can be a ballszzz ****** and launch at 6k and cut 1.6x [if stock rear will hold] all with the stock cam. same as putting a large stall in a stock fbody. put a 4k stall behind a stock ls1 and youll cut 60s all day long as long as you have the supporting mods
a cam will not affect 60' what so ever. the launch point in which you leave the line is what effects it. now if you have the wrong size converter which most on here do then youll 60 worst then you did before cause of the rpm range of the cam now

Take for example my dad's Z06 (6 speed). It's a H/C/I stock shortblock. It makes 450rwhp, and he is dumping the clutch at 6700 RPM. It dead hooks w/ a 1.650' 60'. These cars can cut 1.40s on stock suspension, but he is out of workable RPM. One option is to increase HP/TQ to lower the 60'.

LOL, I get what you're saying, but TQ/HP will peak at the same RPMs no matter how big you go with the cam, so basically you can reasonably only increase your launch RPM so far. (4800 app. max for TQ, 6200 app. max for HP w/ LS6 intake). With a auto, too big of a converter will push you past your workable RPM range. And w/ a street/strip vehicle matching your power to the size of the converter is very important because not everyone runs around with a 4400 converter.

what one vehicle is claimed to be able to do isnt the same for the next identical vehicle.
but as other things involved so is power. power will help make up for some things in the 60' category
