IT RUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for now...

It owuldnt prime with the truck off but the second it cranked up it had 60psi of pressure at idle. Got everything else buttoned up, a couple of lifters were ticking for a bit but gradually pumped up, it is quiet as a mouse now. Its ALOT quieter then my 5.3 was with a comp 222/224 112 with 918s, guess those Manley springs are alot better for quietness. We took it for a drive it was quiet, I didnt feel the hp gain that I did when I put the 222/224 in my old 5.3 but it is bovious it needs LOTS of tuning, the normal idle, p to d stuff, etc so Im sure it will get better after a decent amount of tuning. So for now it runs and everything is quiet. Guess the oil pump piston was stuck, either way he has a 150$ oil pump in it.

Thanks for all the help, the cam looked perfect so it had to have been the oil pump

Glad to hear its running. go ahead and change that oil after 50 miles or so and check for bearing material. you are probably ok, but just to be on the safe side.....

yea, like Cody said, it is REALLY quiet. I think I need to play with the tune but so far it is not very impressive AT ALL. I think it is actually slower than my stock cam. It really feels like it's struggling to breath though, and I'm not sure if my 19lbs injectors are maxed out already(I doubt it though).

you have to remember you are choking the **** your motor with just a CAI and spliced in bullet muffler you NEED headers and new/no cats. Glad its still running quiet, next time powerwash your engine before we/you pull the valve covers to get rid of all that damn grime built up right by the runners, so the oil pump does die again.

Glad to hear you got it working...once you get the tune straightened out, it will be night and day. When I first installed my baby cam, it lost power too, until I got a tuned 02 PCM and some 24 lb injectors...I was seeing 7.9* of KR every time I opened the throttle though.

Well I'm seeing exacly 7.9* of KR too. I'm running a 93 octane wait4me tune but I now have EFI Live. The tune wasn't for the cam though.
