Did you try cranking the motor with the valve covers off to see if oil is circulating?

not yet, my truck has been sitting in his garage torn down for 2 days. Now. None of my friends are in town so I can go pick up the oil pump I ordered. This is suck a huge ******* mess it's not even funny. I don't care if I have to go to a ****** 4.3L v6 at this point. I just want a ******* truck to drive.

Now we know the problem. Did you pick up a mechanical gauge while you were at it?

For troubleshooting why not pull out your oil sender and swap his into your truck. Its free and gets one possibility out of the way. Do either of you have a logger or HPTuners?
