Well some of you gave some help in my other thread about 1slow01z71 and myself doing a cam install on my truck.
The problem is, that we are seeing no oil pressure in my truck and we can't figure out what is wrong.
Solutions we've tried so far:
Rocker Arms Torqued to spec-got rid of ticking sound but no oil pressure fix
Spun Cam Bearing-We pulled the cam again and there is no sign of wearing or irregular marks on the cam or the cam journals
Cam Retainer Plate not sealing- We checked the seal and it still is fine
Here is what we're crossing our fingers on:
Bad Oil Pump-We took this apart today and nothing looks to be wrong. The pressure release valve looked to be closed. I know some people said this might be the problem, but I'm gonna try and put a new one in and cross my fingers.
While we have it apart is there anything else, y'all can think of that could have gone wrong? This is the 3rd time to tear down the engine, I don't want to make it anymore than that.

Put a mechanical oil pressure gauge in place of the factory sending unit and check pressure that way. This is always my first recommendation for somebody with oil pressure problems. If the mechanical gauge shows pressure than you know the problem is between the sending unit and the dash gauge.

Are the lifters still noisy? You can leave a vlave cover off and you should see oil coming up through the pushrods if there is oil pressure.
So ... you ARE putting a new pump on and have yet to get it started back up??

The second time I put it back together 5 of the rockers were very loose(my dumbass forgot to torque them). That explained the ticking. Now the valvetrain is much quieter, but there is just no oil pressure.

you need to go ahead and put a new oil pump and oring in there before you keep cranking it with no oil pressure and damage your bearings. Sure there is some oil left in there from when you probably actually did have oil pressure, but the more you crank it and dont have it, your gonna use up what little bit of oil that was helping and really start wearing those bearings out.
