Default bigger altenator...

whats our stock altenator? if i remember we can go up to a 210 or 180 or something like that....

your stocker is a 105amp. i wen to a 130 amp from an escalade and i have had no issues. even with a big stereo-fans-driving lights and all.

I've got a 200A alternator form Alterstar w/an Optima Red Top and that still happens at idle.
and when my E-Fan kicks on...
and when the HVAC fan is above #2...

I'm assuming that non of the alternators that fit our trucks (based off of the Delphi unit) like <1k rpms.

Keep you eyes peeled on your gas maileage too.

i think a lot has to do with the fact that even a 200 amp alt. will not put out 200 amps at idle. most only keep up to about 35 to 40 amps at idle. some more some less.

get a yellow top battery and you won't really need to upgrade IMO.... my stereo drags 160 amps through an 0-awg and I have no issues even at idle.
