There were also lockup versions of the TH-350 also. I think it was the TH-350C...it was one of those POS smog things. My buds old POS '80 Malibu had one I am pretty sure. I believe the 700R4 came out in 1982...but shitty cars like that Malibu got the 2004R in '83 I think.

GM did some weird stuff in the '80s.

A fully prepped 4L60E will hold around 450-500rwhp I'd say if built properly.

I guess I'll just stick with original plan of going with a FLP lvl4 tranny.

Sorry to hijack the thread Parish ... have you thought about a shift kit too? I know TransGo makes one for it.

I suppose on those vac operated shifts the more vac the softer the shift, at WOT/full load there is low vac right so the shifts would be hard.

TransGo has performance shift kits for the 4L80E in fully automatic and vac/manual operation. I think their manual ones w/ vac control can be setup to be automatic w/ vac control. I'd give them a call to double check.
