Default best traction street tire

Running 285/60/18 cooper discoverer h/t. Wondering if you guys would know of a better hooking tire.. I can't seem to find anything in this size range and I don't want to go any smaller because of my gearing.. I need something streetable as I use the truck for towing my bass boat also.... If anyone has any ideas for a great hooking street/summer tread tire(not all terrane tires) please let me know. Thanks, Dave.

I just swapped my all terrains for Hankook Ventus RH06s in the search for street traction. So far they are a great tire, handle the dry and rain with no problems, ride smooth and quiet, and hook up pretty good too when going wide open throttle, especially if you heat them up a little.

+1, great tire. On my second set and they hook and go, rain or shine. Quiet and long tread life too. Think I got 50k miles out of my first set.

It's well documented that the ET streets and definitely the pros have minimal to no resistance to hydroplaning. You can be driving along completely out of the throttle and still let loose.

Well, I guess your online reading trumps my experience LOL. BTW, I'm talking about the et drag radials, not the ET street. two completely different tires. ET street is basically a slick. I daily drove 555r tires no problem. 80mph in the rain was fine. once they had no tread, it was sketchy, but that's to be expected with any tire.
