422

It should bolt right up. You'll be missing a bolt for the alternater if you use a LS1 or LS6 block from a car.
I've got a complete 422 if your interested. It should make over 600FWHP
N/A and will be going on the dyno in a week or so.

If you were to buy a 422 longblock from one of the sponsors you're looking at $11,000+ depending on alluminum or iron block. When you start adding recomended parts(head studs, mian studs, custom pistons, rockers, etc.) you're looking at an extra $1,000+ or so. Let's say you can swing that OK, now you need a drivetrain that can take it. I'm running the FLP Level IV 4L65E and once I start spraying, this trans isn't going to hold it. This trans was roughly $2,500. You really need to sit down and add up EVERYTHING that's going to be needed and then decide if you can comfortably get it done. Don't know if you're married or have kids but, this is one expense that can't be explaind as a necessity no matter how long you argue about it. Other things that need to be added to this equation is tires, brakes, and gas. You'll be going through these things at a FAST pace. Not trying to discourage you, just trying to prepare you. Good luck.

Price of a 422 and a 408 should be roughly the same. The price of a 4" crank and a 4.125" crank are just about the same. Custom rods and pistons should cost the same for either setup. The only reason to get a 408 is to use the kit from Lunati that has the 4" crank.
