Default 370 knock help

Well when we first fired it up i didnt hear any knocks, but after driving it a little its developed a tick/knock im pretty sure is coming from the valve train. running torquer 2 on 114lsa set straight up on timing, prc dual springs good to .650, ls7 lifters that soaked for a couple days and stock rockers. running 6qt royal purple break in oil(10w30) The first time we drove it i got it warmed up and did some 1/2-3/4 throttle runs from 30-60 to seat the rings. Is there any special break in i need to do for the cam and lifters, i thought there wasnt on a hydraulic lifter but not sure. just not sure what it is and its freaking me out. I took off both valve covers and all the rocker bolts are tight(we torqued them to the proper sequence) I used plenty of assembly lube when we put it together. anybody have any input?

its not easy to hear with the noisy longtubes but driving down the neighborhood street you can hear the sound bouncing off the curb. Was also pulling a p0107, but just found the map sensor unhooked

You're going to get a fair amount of noise with a hyd RR, and stiffer springs. Internal lifter clearences are the main culprit combined with lifter to bore clearence. The LS7 lifters are cheap and mass produced. I'f the noise is more than a light chatter, and a rythmatic tap you could have a problem..

Yeah, its pretty light and somewhat rythmatic. idk if its worth posting the couple vids i got cause the headers are so noisy.

I know the header noise and thats not it, ive had them on the 5.3 for a few thousand miles and im pretty familiar with the sound. On my first 5.3 i had an intermittent lifter bleed down and knock and it sounds more like that but not as severe. Thanks for the input though

Cheaper to eat the oil than the lifters. Definitely seems like stuck lifters, and that break-in oil may have helped create some gunk from the parts wearing in and settling in the bleed holes. Maybe just drain the break-in oil and save it. Run some cheap 5w30 with some gunk remover oil additive for the recommended time on the container, usually about five minutes, and then replace with the break-in oil. Could be a cheap fix if it's not a major problem

Also, isn't that break-in oil a bit thinner than what is used for normal operation (5W30)? I always use 10W30 full synth Mobil One because that recommended 5W30 is too thin and noisy in my opinion. Yes I said it. Noisy oil......
