so after installing the trunions in the rockers it helped a bit but not really. Im thinkin i got the wrong length pushrods. with the block being decked, heads surfaced, gaskets etc. i need to measure for the correct length. right now im running the 7.4's cause that what i was advised before i started the engine build. I was reading alot on ls1tech and seeing different lengths of pushrods with the tq v.2.

Yea 7.35 is gonna be close but the pushrod length checker is on the way just to be sure. i didnt realize the ls7 lifter cup sat .050 higher than the stockers. i got the comp retro fit trunion kit, it was only 150 bucks and they were definitely worth it so you dont have to worry about the stocks and are just way more stout.

There was an extensive discussion about the ls7 lifter height on ls1tech and I think the conclusion was there are 2 different lifters that are called "ls7" lifters, one is 0.050 higher, and the other is the same as the ls1 lifters, the latter of which being the newest design.

You just need to check it with your checker and dont let a post on the internet tell you what length you need.

And break in oil isnt any thinner, it just has more zinc and magnesium in it.
