back to your original question, yes it can be done, but you would know it if you heard it. It sounds like your buddy probably has some cash into it, but is doing a bit of bench racing based on aftermarket "ratings" take him to the dyno, bet him a couple hundred and make some cash. All IMO

the hp is possiable but no on any stock gm parts..
to build a 6.0l motor to make 12000 crank hp and live would take probably $35,000. There is SO much that has to be taken into consideration, computer, fuel system, injectors, pumps, pistons, rods, crank, the list never stops.

12000 is a lot, more than top fuel!
on that note, i have a friend with a 2002 RCSB sierra that runs 10's all day, and he DD his truck. i cant ever talk him into joining this site, i think he joined long ago but didnt seem to like it. he is running a 408 with some dope, a TH400 tranny and Ford 9" rear, with 3.70 gears. i have been in the truck, driven it, and watched it turn 6.89 n/a and 6.19 on the gas... in the 1/8th mile of course. i think he is deep in the 10's in the 1/4, and he posted a video of his 6.19 and 6.18 run on youtube.

I think the guy was trying to ask is if could be done? I think we can all agree that yes for the huge amount of money it would cost that it can be done. Would it be relaiable and for how long is another question? I think with a LSX block and all the right parts, power adders etc... It would be very likely. Until the guy can post up some specs on his particular build(which I'm sure alot of us would like to know) we can't really be bashing him to bad. It could be a mega cube carb'd moter for all we know??
