That's true, but a true RWD drag setup would require slicks and a fuel cell, all cutting down on the "stealth" of the truck. I'm sure that Jim is worried about ET's, but I've seen more than enough video's of the trucks "weekend use" to justify keeping it 4WD.

I hate to admit it, but I would love to see just one 20psi launch in RWD on slicks.

it wouldn't take much to get it to hook in 2wd. you could run it at the track in 2wd and still have 4wd for street tire/street racing. with cal-tracks and QA1's or Rancho's you could probably get away with a 31x10.5-12.5 inch slick and hook up just fine. finding a set of drum brakes off an 05' for the rear would give you more holding power on the line and allow for 15's to fit in the rear. 2wd and slicks at the track. 4wd and street tires on the street.

Are you sure about the '05 drums being able to fit 15s? They looked pretty big behind the 17" wheels when I stopped and looked at them.

i haven't done ANYTHING to try and get the 4wd to work better and the things i have planed are not excessive. i am going to give it a try. i pulled a 1.63 on STOCK fire junks, with a few minor suspension tweaks and some stickier tires ya just never know.

i think with some 1.4x 60' times i will be able to run 9's. i think with just suspension mods and tires a mid 10 could have happened with my 6.0. now add 300hp(built motor, maxed turbo, 100shot) and i would think even with just a 1.4 60' i could see 9's.

if i ever do a rwd set up it will be insane, something like a 1200+hp colorado is what i am thinking, 2wd, 408, big turbo, 4 link and tubed, full cage. maybe tow it to the track with my current truck.
