I *think* 11.50 and lower you are required to have a 6 point cage, fire jacket, helmet, 5 point harness. Once you drop below a 10, there is some more stuff added to the safety list. I don't remember what it is though.

I would STRONGLY recommend some d/s loops, 2 on the rear, and at least one on the front. That was a scary scary feeling that I don't ever want to go through again. BTW, they are required when running 11.5 or lower OR running slicks.

Do not attempt a restrained 4-wheel burnout. I think that the truck will start bucking front to back loading and unloading the drivetrain. It'll break.

If you pull off a 1.4 second 60-foot with the 8.2" front and 8.6" rear without breaking either one, I'll send you a Dollar.

I know this is crazy and pretty much a useless post, but in my past off-road research guys mentioned locking hubs on the rear axle, or transfer cases with the ability to unlock the rear driveshaft (the two stick transfer cases). I guess this is sometimes nice if the rear end blew up they could limp home in FWD. Anyways my thought is that if you could somehow disengage the rear end you could do a FWD burnout, then a RWD burnout, then go back to 4x4 for the run. HAHA anyways dont flame me guys just thinking out loud. ~josh

i also think your 60' should make 1.5's easy and 1.4's should be very possible.

too bad on that run the tranny decided to lol it was fun

rancho makes a few shocks that would work thier air shocks or thier rs 9000 which are adjustable 5 ways. i have thought about adjusting out the torson bars to let it sit on the bump stops and taking out the front shocks. i dont know how it would react with no shocks. and getting those rs 9000 for the back and adjusting them for the stiffest setting.

it sure was cool to see. (that is until the 2-3 shift) 13.6 using only first and second gear wasn't half bad though. lol as for the burnout though, it was worth watching. it had everyone around me talking. too bad the video didn't come out very well...

I think I saw the worlds fastest typhoon out there a couple of weekends ago. He couldn't launch that hard because he said he would just start breaking parts all the time. He told me all the guys running 9's were just RWD not AWD. Thats what I was told weather it's true or not I don't know. I say drop the 4wd and go 2wd and you'll be in the low tens for sure.

Yeah... I'm with K-9 here. Look at all this work you are doing to try and get a 4wd launch right. It has taken you to where you are now, but to step beyond that you need to go 2wd with a real drag setup and some FAAAT slicks. I'm thinking you could even do some minor tub work and keep it looking stock.

Also, consider your aerodynamics! Think about the crazy drag that you have at 100+ MPH. I suggest some type of custom airdam the would put you only about 3-4 inches off the ground and at least help. Maybe you could also look @ taking the side mirrors off and getting a bed cover. I'm thinking little things like that could make a decent difference.
