im taking it cools off when u drive? low coolant, air pocket, faulty tstat, obstructions blocking the radiator? leaves, bags, etc., try burping the sytem to get all the air out

x2. After my cam swap my truck got up in the 240 degree range because I had a pocket of air, but opening up the coolant tank and "burping" it fixed it.

I'd also check out the t-stat as mentioned above.

Your stock clutch fan might be out as well, never heard of it happening on the newer trucks, but anything is possible

Ive seen it happen on the OBS trucks..
We put my Clutch on his truck and it works amazingly better than his stocker.

But check for air pockets, a new Tstat wouldnt hurt.. If someone was close to ya, they could scan it and see what the exact temps are.

Can you borrow an infrared temp gun and check the water neck or coolant hose neck?

Might tell on your gauge accuracy/inaccuracy!

does it jump around sparattically? if it does, this is what just happened to me, the ECT sensor in the head went bad.
Log it and see what the computer is saying, if its erratic thats the problem, just the sensor
