I'm needing a tranny also. Can't get no freaking time off work to go shopping. My 1-2 is slipping pretty bad at WOT.

I say go for the 4L80E now, and save yourself any future headaches and cash.
nope, the 408 isn't too friendly with much of anything, except the smile factor!

I bet you have that set up for a brutal 2-3 shift, thats why it broke again. Did you change anything the last time or did you just assume it was a fluke?

Depending on which Greg your talking to, mine is smacking the rev limiter at WOT. I can drive it around and play, but it's a matter of time before the big bang. So, I'm getting it done here in a few weeks the right way.

With trannys being a finicky as they are, I wan't my builder local. $700 for that is a good deal though. But it's not exactly the same as the truck tranny from what I understand.

i have been on the phone all day (killed the battery in my cordless) and most seem to think it was from the line pressure being turned up too high in the tranny itelf. so, the builder is to blame for that one. i should have burned clutches instead. this comes from some pretty heavy hitters around the country.

i was directing that at you greg (fast4.8). my original tranny did the exact same thing shortly after i installed the blower. i fried every friction part in it.

and what is the difference in the trannys from the fbods to the trucks? i have never heard that.
