So, I'm getting my Tahoe ready to sell. It's very cool and fun to drive but I got a Jeep and it's a money pit so I have to sell some toys to pay for it. Anyway, I finally wired in the reverse lights successfully. The last thing I need to do related to the transmission swap is to see if I can get the cruise control working. It was working before I did the swap but now it doesn't do anything. I have the controls on the blinker switch. Is there a wire that needs to be tied into the brakes or should it be working without that? I just need to know where to start looking for possible problems.

Damn. That sucks to hear Axekick. I've been thinking on and off about selling mine. It would be a tough decision if I do but I have SOO many vehicles on a small property right now. I'm actually swapping the Yukon to a smaller cam right now because of all of the bumper to bumper traffic I sit in. I was able to tune out most of the bucking but for DC traffic I really need a near stock like idle / rolling idle if I am going to sit in traffic for over an hour and not be annoyed.

It feels like in the last 4 years or so these vehicles (gmt800s) have become really antiquated especially compared to all the new vehicles coming out. If I sell I know ill regret it later in life like what happened to my square body. sold it for nothing and now they are good money....

Here is a driving segment with the manual swap. Took way too long to do this. I gave up on editing and just posted the raw footage. I filmed it in 4K but somehow it got uploaded in only 360i?

Do you like the Hurst shifter? I've seen a bunch of conflicting reviews.

Also How much are you looking to get out of it?

I would say mostly ergonomics and cup holders! I kept all of the parts for the old shifter though.

One thing I don't think you mentioned was driveability. Would love to hear how it shifts!
Is there any diferance with NV3500??

The NV4500 holds gobs of power, loves to be abused and has awesome gear ratios.

The NV3500 Can hardly handle V6 power doesn't like being bang shifted and is not rated to tow much.

Both are sorta loud (Which can be fixed with some insulation).

^^ tell that to Ed
https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...archid=8197685
replaced his 4.3 with a 454, beat it to death, then swapped in an 8.1... then added a turbo. can't remember if he got the 2nd turbo on before the T56 swap (it's been a long time).
stock nv3500

...and then he did a 2nd 8.1 swap stick-shift truck

and even the Joe Gibbs trucks kept the stock nv3500 with their blower package. heard that one straight from the horse's mouth.

yes, the early transmissions were complete crap, but the GMT800 ones were a little better-built.
